Sign of Things to Enjoy

As spring rushes toward summer, it makes us excited of things to come.  We always look forward this time of year to see how the roses will fare...as we planted quite a few; but we have pretty much left each one to their own fate....
The first one pictured here has to be our favorite.  The aroma is wonderful and the color is beautiful...

These are the buds that are a sign of things to come.

And again more to come.

This is an old fashioned heirloom rose that blooms all summer.

Here is Belinda's Dream.

Here is Pudge, our friendly rooster.  He is always ready to find us a treat on the ground that he thinks will thrill us, because he is a gentle soul and ready to please

Here are our little eggplants, that are steadily buffing up; ready to begin to put out some fruit for us to make some awesome dinners this summer.

This hydrangea seems to be very happy.  It is located against the chicken coop and the chicken run.  Perhaps it loves the fertilizer that must run under it from the spring rains...it is loaded with buds and already has awarded us with its beautiful blossoms...

Definitely a sign of things to come.

One of the favorite fruits of the farm are the blueberries. The surviving blueberries left after the spring freeze are getting plumper.

We pulled one of our beets to see how they are doing. This one we decided to grill with some other veggies.

This is a favorite sign of things to come. We have cooked many a meal on the big gas grill (RIP old gas grill, rusted guts and all), but nothing compares to the flavor of cooking over the hardwood charcoal in our simple little Webbie.

Have to have a place to sit.

When we eat or relax on the deck, this is Mamie's favorite place to sit. This vintage adirondack chair is so comfy-especially with a cushy old quilt and a pillow for the sciatica.

Time to get the Grill ready.

Throw on some steaks...

Must have some accompaniments..

The beggars always show up at dinnertime...

Time to eat!  Hope you enjoyed your visit.  Let us know what you think.

Come back,  you never know what may be new.

  2. Your flowers are just beautiful! As are your photos. Love your little moochers - isn't it funny how they hang around at dinner time?

    1. We love this time of year. Our flowers and veggies seem to love it as well. As for the little moochers we had to take Pickles to the vet today. She is ok but sure scared us. Thanks for visiting.

  3. Wow! I love your photographs; simply lovely! I am so bad with roses and I have no tolerance for blackspot. Blackspot follows me no matter where in the world I move. :)

Love your dogs too. Your entire blog is so inviting and pretty.

    Blessings!

    1. Yes, blackspot is a curse...but roses are so beautiful and they keep on trying to survive, so we keep trying!

Pickles spent her day in the ER today...the things we do for our furkids...sigh.
